Welcome to this small corner of the handmade rug industry. I know I speak for our whole team when I say that we are so happy to connect with others who truly appreciate the significance and beauty of bespoke goods.
Many hands have touched these rugs. Every one is made with utmost care and with the knowledge that we’re creating a work of art that will live well in your home or business and be treasured as an heirloom to enjoy for a lifetime (or two, or three.) We hope you will come to love these rugs and the processes as we do.
With gratitude,
Laurie
Laurie Downing spent over ten years coordinating product development with Tibet Rug Company’s team and merited several America’s Magnificent Carpets Awards for her designs. She later became co-owner and creative director of an international art publishing company where she worked with a large cadre of artists to develop, license and market their work. Wool Song is the culmination of her two great loves: textile design and fine art. She strives to offer fresh perspectives while engaging the medium with a keen eye for design and sense of adventure!
A heartfelt thank you to Elizabeth Dejure Wood for her colorful illustration above, created especially for Wool Song. You can enjoy more of her work on Instagram and at elizabethdejurewood.com.
